To the Northwestern tour of Anna Stovall
I first met Anna Stovall at the April Festival of
2002 in South California. She immediately charmed audience (myself
included) with her nice personality. Then she just put wonderful
performance and effortlessly showed us her works of genius. Indeed,
songs that she compose or translate come beautifully finished, and
so natural as if no effort was spent on the composition. Her
translations deserve to be mentioned separately. It is not often
that I see translations that are so beautiful and preserve original
form so well. In addition they are translations between cultures,
not just languages. Anna performs in six languages and writes lyrics
in two.
Anna is coming to Seattle and Portland on her first Northwestern tour.
She will perform songs of her own in Russian and English as well as
other Gypsy, Brazilian and Georgian songs. She'll be here with her
talent, her charm, so give it up for a beautiful lady from
Salt Lake City, Anna Stovall!
